The business was started in the 1930s. Back then we were fitting tyres using very basic tools. The tyres tended to be narrower than todays and the composition was mostly of rubber.

During WW2 production switched to helping the military and our company was mentioned by Mr Churchill for its outstanding contribution to the war effort.

Since the end of the war the company's goal was to expand to become the top producer in the UK. It has achieved that and additionally has set up several subsidiaries in many parts of what is now The Commonwealth.

In the face of stiff foreign competition since then we have managed to grow due the quality of the tyres we produce. In many places tyres are referred to as 'green eyes' in a fun sort of way.
